Zend PHP has landed!
The timing couldn’t be more perfect as Indonesia experienced the second surge of dotcom industry that will surely fuel up demand for enterprise class PHP services and solutions.
In early October 2007 Zend had appointed PT Rynet Cipta Teknologi as reseller for Indonesia, part of its distribution network of 27 resellers in 23 countries. It is most likely Rynet will also serve Asean market as there are only two resellers for the region. But I think Rynet also has good chance in Malay spoken countries than the other Thailand-based reseller.
Of course Rynet first have to focus on local market. There has been significant demand of enterprise class PHP solutions in Indonesia since version 3 was introduced a few years ago. Enterprises -realizing the capability of PHP mainly for web applications- had been sending their developers to PHP courses but most of them are still in doubt, citing lack of professional support. They ended up most using Java instead; PHP was only a “toy” for IT department.
